What Are the Physical Symptoms of Anxiety Attacks?

It typically starts with sensations that are somewhat unfamiliar to us and it at first, it may be something that we brush off as being nothing at all. As these sensations continue to grow and to take over, we begin to realize that something is horribly wrong. Many times, it causes us to feel as if we are going to lose control of ourselves, either mentally or physically and a breakdown of some sort seems imminent. What you are experiencing is an anxiety attack, something that is all too familiar to many of us.

The physical symptoms of anxiety attacks are actually quite varied and you might be surprised to find out that it is able to affect almost any area of the body. Some of the most common symptoms of anxiety attacks would include sweating profusely, pain or tightness in the chest, dizziness, nausea (perhaps including vomiting in severe cases), a tingling in the extremities and shortness of breath. When these are experienced in connection with an anxiety attack, it only tends to make matters worse and increase our anxiety level even further.

Of course, not all panic attacks are going to create this level of problems. The symptoms of mild anxiety attack might include some of the same symptoms as the larger attack, only in a lesser volume. It typically would start with a pit in the stomach or perhaps a feeling as if something is not quite right. This can either grow into a major panic attack, as it does in many cases or you can use one of the coping techniques in order to get over the anxiety symptoms and return your mental reactions to their normal state.

The first step in overcoming this problem is to recognize the signs and symptoms of an anxiety attack so that you can successfully cope with it as early in the attack is possible. The reason why this is the case is because the sooner that you are able to cope with the problem that you are experiencing, the sooner your body will release the chemicals that are necessary to return it to its calm and relaxed state. Although it would eventually return to that state, even if you were not to deal with it with a coping mechanism, all of us would welcome the calmness to come a little sooner.

If you are dealing with these physical symptoms of anxiety attacks regularly, now is the time for you to learn how to deal with them effectively. Although each of us has anxiety for our own personal reasons, many of the causes that bring about the actual attack are similar in every individual. Understanding these underlying causes is the only way that you're going to be able to successfully deal with them and to win your life back from these distressing problems. It is not something that is out of your reach, and with just a little bit of knowledge under your belt, you would be surprised with how effectively you are able to deal with it.
